Batman: The Dark Knight *Spoilers*

Thu Jul 24, 2008, 10:16 PM
So, I saw the new Batman movie not too long ago, but never really thought to make a journal entry or anything like that on it. Or at least until I tried to write a five paragraph long comment on somebody's journal about it. I decided then that I should probably write my own journal entry, rather than leaving a ridiculously large comment on somebody's journal entry. Plus, I am a little obsessed with Batman at the moment and I told my friend that if they didn't like Batman, I would shove it down their throat. So with that pleasant thought in mind, I decided to make this.

So first, I would like to go into a bit about Heath Ledger. Everybody has been saying that he should get an oscar for his outstanding performance and they are all absolutly, 100% correct! He was brilliant, phenominal, extraordinary! It is something that I think many people will remember him for very well. It was so believable. He showed the character very well. Also, Heath Ledger died from an overdose and the sad thing is, he wasn't doing drugs or trying to committ suicide. So it's great that people have something to remember him by. It was such a wonderful performance, and though I know that I, as well as many others were upset by his death, he definetly did something great.

Christian Bale was also amazing. I mean, I have always been a huge fan of Christian Bale ever since I saw Equilibrium. I also loved all of the Batman movies since I was a little kid, so being a teen and figuring out that they were making a new Batman, I was ecstatic. Then, my mom tells me that Christian Bale acts in it and not only does he act in the movie, but he is batman. I remember just smiling and my mom showing me the trailer. This movie shows a more darker side of Batman, rather than the more cartoon like style in other shows and such. Christian Bale embodies that character very well. He did an amazing job and I thank all of the actors and everyone that helped to make this movie.

I think that one of the reasons as to why I have always been so moved by the character of Batman is because he is just a regular person. It's amazing to think that all of these people are completely normal. None of them were ever bit by a spider or anything. They are regular people whose minds and hearts bring them to do what they do. Sometimes, it is even their insanity or sorrow that brings them to it. It's one of the things that just adds to the movie. It's all so believable that it can be a little scary. I mean, all that Batman is is an encridibly rich man with good contacts, and all that the Joker is is an amazingly insane man with the incredible ability to manipulate people.

One of the characters that I would say probably was the most predictable was Harvey Dent. It may have been because he was so emotional. The things that make him who he is are the ones he loves and I can relate to that. I mean, you could tell that as soon as Rachel died, he would be a wreck. Then to be so damaged after somebody you love dies, it's a heart breaking thing that even somebody like him could not endure. Besides, the whole leaving it up to chance, that seemed a little bit like a bad guy thing to me. But, you come to know a lot of these characters as very tragic ones. Badass as they may be, there are things that they had to go through to get to where they are and most of things are not very pretty.

This movie did have amazing action scenes and looked absolutly phenominal. I mean, in a way, Batman would be a darker character and the Joker truly is crazy and won't stop at anything. I mean, he even makes pencils disappear! So, to see it all coming to life is one of the most astounding experiences. To see it as I have imagined it just amazed me. So, not only were the characters great, but so was everything great visually.

This was a great movie, not only due to the amazing acting and the visuals, but the thing I remember the most about it is being on the edge of my seat because I couldn't just see everything coming. I was so tense through the entire movie! I usually get worked up about movies and books, but this was incredible! My mom wanted to comfort me or possibly comfort herself, so she held my hand and her's probably turned white because I had such a strong grip on it. Once again, these people are normal and only as predictable as any other human, but their minds and emotions bring them to do things that some of us fear or hope for. I love that it makes people think about things like that. One of my friends wanted to talk to me right after he saw the movie because he too thought the same thing. So, whether you go to see it because of the pure awesomeness of it being a Batman movie, or you see it from a more complicated perspective, it is sure to please.

Consider the daffodil. And while you’re doing that, I’ll be over here, looking through your stuff.
Thank you for the art! Actually, I haven't even finished looking through everything of yours yet so I'm sure I'll have a lot more to fave!
sorry, I've been offline for awhile (due to internet complications) and just got back online recently...
congrats on your new baby brother, it must be fun having a brother! I don't have any siblings, so I'm a bit jealous ^^
I liked your journal entry on the dark knight, very well written!

Well, he has a few problems with sleeping and eating and just about everything else, but he is very cute at times too. My mom says he might be the worst behaved baby she's had, but I think it's getting better. I'll have to put pictures of him up. He's really cute <3

Thank you very much! I actually wrote it even longer to begin with and more detailed and such, but then my computer spazzed out and I had to rewrite it.
So, how have you been doing?
sounds like your little bro is definitely keeping you and your mom busy~
I bet he's adorable though ^__^ looking forward to the pictures!

I haven't been up to much, just resting up while I can (school starts again for me in october)& just absently wishing vacation lasted longer, hehe

Oh, school starts again for me in September. I am actually rather thrilled about it.
Tonight, I am going to help her with him. Hopefully this time I won't fall asleep xD
Have you read any of the Twilight books? I am asking because I read a review on Breaking Dawn that sounded dreadful!
I haven't read any of the twilight books~ are they any good?
I never listen to reviews, because I can never find a critic with similar taste to mine- for example: some of the most popular books are romance novels, and I'm not a big fan of them. I prefer fantasy, scifi or mystery. What about you, what are your favorite types of books?
